The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials advocates transportation-related policies and provides technical services to support states in their efforts to efficiently and safely move people and goods.
Due to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act that Presiden Barack Obama signed into law on February 17, 2009 INDOT was rewarded $657 million for highway, bridge, and infrastructure projects. All projects must be completed by February 17, 2012.
How does this work?
INDOT reviews project plans and estimates which are dispersed to the Federal Highway Administration to ensure federal highway guidelines are ahered to. After the FHWA approves them, the funds are provided and projects are available for bid.
